Whenever you hear kids talking about what they want to be when they grow up, you usually hear the standard jobs or dream jobs thrown around. Real estate agents, if they work hard enough, can make that type of money every year and they can do it without having had to go to a post-secondary educational institute for 4 years. As long as you're motivated, dedicated and willing to learn, you too can become a real estate agent. Every state in America and province in Canada has different guidelines to becoming a real estate agent. They each have their own unique courses that teach you about the specific real estate laws pertaining to the state or province you plan on becoming a realtor in. It's kind of like how ESL Toronto and New York classes are different from each other. Once you've decided on where you want to be a real estate agent, you can then start the process.
What does that process entail? Well, you do have to take real estate courses related to the type of real estate you want to sell. They usually consume about 100 hours of your time. You'll learn everything there is to know about real estate such as how to make sure clients are pre-qualified and what should be included in a contract. Once your courses are done, you'll have to write an exam that will earn you your realtor's license. Once that's done, you can start marketing yourself to potential agencies in the hopes of landing a job.
